I don't do strides often, I guess maybe I should but I've never liked them much. I have been doing sprint training 1-3 times a week though recently. I'm not sure what I'll do once I have organized practices though (my coach will probably be fine with me making some modifications but I'm going to be starting to run race-pace intervals and don't want to overdo it)
For example, today I ran 300m at about 90-95% effort, then about 10 minutes later ran 2x100m at maybe 85% (a few minutes between the 100s). Another workout I liked was 6x200m at a little slower than 400 pace with a 200m walk recovery between 200s. I did them at goal 400 + 4 seconds (so if your goal is 60, you'd run at 64s pace, so 32 per 200)
I'm definitely more the 8/16 type than the 16/32 type though, obviously YMMV.
