Were either of your parents alcoholics? Very typical behaviors..high achieving and low achieving life styles show up in adult children of alcoholics.
The most important decision in most people's lives is who their parents are.
That's a way of saying luck matters a lot.
I work at some career colleges. We help typically 20-35 year olds get vocational training to get careers like medical assisting or hvac tech. It's humbling to listen to the struggles our students have and is a constant reminder of how fortunate I was and many on this board likely are. If anyone would ever want to sit in and see for yourself, find me on LinkedIn and we will set it up.
Not really answering your question directly on how siblings can have dramatically different life trajectories. A lot of that is luck and preferences on what makes individuals happiest.
Also, if you were fortunate to have great parents and go to 4 year university, you won the genetic lottery in some regards. Shouldn't ever complain about taxes to the wealthier as a big reason you're there is from luck.

My parents were not alcoholics but were not... very loving I guess. It does seem like my sister focuses on all the negativity a lot and drowns in it. I have those thoughts too, but I try to view them as life lessons, like overcoming adversity, etc. I guess I could see how such situations could break some while strengthening others. That still doesn't explain the intelligence gap, however.
My Dearest Doctor STEM,How will you survive another day knowing that your siblings just don't match up to your majestic brilliance? The struggle must be very real.
I believe that you've been more "successful." But I wonder if it's possible that they understand the definition of "profound" better than you?
They might! How embarrassing !!
Anyone who calls themselves 'golden child' has more problems than the burden of intelligence.
Dunno about all this, but anyone else think the OP sounds like a twat?
I mean, I have a high IQ too but I don't get all prissy about it. Just chill, let your sub-par siblings be sub-par and go about your doings
Do your siblings look anything like the mailman or a UPS driver?
You seem like a strange dude js
ya'll are just losers who are jealous of OP
