I hope you didn't run at ND!
To think that the only way athletes improve is to drop weight is foolish! Many athletes maintain weight and make huge improvements as their fitness improves and they learn the limits of the bodies/learn to race properly.

Depends on what she does this spring.
Even if she gets close to her PRs, she is not getting a big contract.
Next Olympics will be 3 years away. No reason to invest big time in a woman of her ability now.
The big sponsors are cutting back.
Maybe Brooks or Hoka.
The ND/Catholic following for runners is not as strong as it is for Irish football, but it will help her a little.
She might decide not to pursue pro running, based on the offers.
She is currently worth about $50k a year. I told Coach Sparks this and never heard back from Molly. I can only assume that she sees her value as much greater than that.
Compared to whom? That seems high. She'd be silly to turn that down unless she's not planning on going pro and going to graduate school or something.
Why do you feel that way? Curious where this apparent dislike for the UA brand came from and how you came to perceive the brand a certain way. Thanks.

I assume any collegiate runner can hold a decent plant.
Anyone on my girls team can hold swiss chard and kale quite easily, as well as lamb's quarters and mallow.

Molly already has an agent. He is going to lengths to make her marketable.
Maybe she will put together a track season. Maybe a post-collegiate coach will want to work with her. Maybe she will remain healthy.
Is Molly eligible to compete indoors, or has the NCAA been investigating?
There is Notre Dame/Catholic fan support for distance runners that's going to help her get a larger contract offer?

Now your here wrote:
If Molly wants to be a good pro then she needs to sign with a group like NAZ or Hansons ans prove herself over the next 4-5 years. If she signs an individual contract with UA or Saucony or someone else and try to navigate the pro scene with just an agent and a contract she will fail.
Hansons? haha sure if she wants to end her career immediately.
As my old college coach used to say "SKIP LUNCH"

Note to young female runners -- work on being strong and DURABLE more than being skinny. The skinny thing NEVER lasts.
No way are NAZ or Hansons or Bowerman or any other name program going to reach out to Molly. Whether it is fair or not, there is a stigma that follows her right now. Eating disorders are contagious and established programs are not willing to risk it. Shalane or Desi would eat this girl alive.

Looks like she's eligible.
And NO Agent
I think she is worth a low-value contract with significant bonus payments if she produces on the roads. I don't think she has a shot on the track, but I always thought she looked liked a marathoner anyhow - given her build and pretty efficient stride.
It will be interesting to see if she can win NCAA 10K this spring. She will have to beat Wright (UNM), Finn (Mich), Schweizer (Mizzou), and probably one of the Boise standouts (Ostrander, Peloquin). Regardless of whether Molly wins 1 or 2 more NCAA championships, I think she will move product - so yes, I think she will be offered a sponsorship of some sort.
Have you been paying attention?
She is back at ND because no one was willing to take a chance on her last year.
IT IS MUCH EASIER TO GET A CONTRACT ON AN OLYMPIC YEAR.
This year companies are cutting back. Why will she be a better investment now?
I have been paying attention. Thanks for asking!
If you were paying attention, you would know she is back at ND for many reasons.
no
It is funny that you picked Michigan to attack. If Molly were currently at Michigan she would of had a contract and other pro runners to train with in Ann Arbor. Coach Mike is very well connected.
Sorry - its just second nature for me to want to beat UM at anything and everything... I do like Finn, however, and wish her the best. Hope to see her and Molly have some good battles this spring.
