Had this discussion earlier with a teammate and we couldn't decide.
Is there any detriment to doing strides after every run in your base building stages? What if it is just two solid strides of like 60 meters?

As long as you aren't one of those people who full on treats their strides like a 100m dash I don't see any problem with it. I normally do strides on all of my recovery days just to maintain speed, especially during base building.

Double post, oops
I just dont do strides
Do strides by feel. Number and diration should be energizing not taxing.
Bump,
I'm curious, too. Can you do them everyday?
Any reason why strides shouldn't be on the faster/harder end? I tend to treat my strides as working up to 90% speed, sometimes all out if I feel really good.
Don't want to overtax on recovery day. I always tried at about 80%.
Yes, all recovery days. If overly tired pass on em.

Are you conflating recovery runs and base building? They aren't the same thing.
Building Base. Not easy days. I'm thinking like summer mileage and mileage done between cross and indoor season.

Sure, it is a good idea to do a lot of strides during base building.
