In 2016, when Donald John Trump said he would keep Carrier from moving a furnace factory from Indiana to Mexico, BHO smirked. At a town hall meeting in Indianapolis, he taunted Trump when asked about the loss of hundreds of jobs at Carrier.
"Some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back. And when somebody says like the person you just mentioned who I’m not going to advertise for, that he’s going to bring all these jobs back. Well how exactly are you going to do that? What are you going to do? There’s no answer to it,"
"He just says, ‘I’m going to negotiate a better deal.’ Well how? How exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer."
The magic wand is called tax relief. Abra-cadabra, the corporate tax rate dropped from the 35% to 21%.
And abra-cadabra, a thousand useless regulations disappear.
And abra-cadabra, trade agreements are re-negotiated.
And abra-cadabra, United Technologies -- the parent company of Carrier -- just announced it will create 35,000 new jobs over the next five years. This is an investment of $15 billion. The jobs are not just at Carrier.
The losers who ran things from 2006-16 (Pelosi, Reid, etc) hate the idea of job creation. How's are those imaginary "green economy" jobs going, eh?
