I'm also glad the girl she displaced at NXR Southwest gets to go. Would suck to be a the first high school girl out for a high school championship because a fast middle schooler took your spot. Probably the same feeling teams have when other teams get to qualify and race middle schoolers against them...
I'm rooting for Grace Ping to be an amazing high school athlete over the next 4 years. :)
They have a USATF middle school cross country championship. Last Dec, it was held in Albuquerque. Grace finished 2nd to Aidyn Woodall of CO. Of course, Aidyn was acclimated to elevation but a great runner nonetheless.
This^^ make the rules clear and let everyone have there chance, Grace Ping is good no doubt but as you say Aidyn beat her last year and there are probably at least 5 or 6 other grade 8ers from states that dont allow MS runners that could also qualify if given the chance. Either open it up for everyone and make it clear or don't do it for anyone. The fact she raced in the regional meet makes super upset as it is.
