There does no seem to be enough information here.
You guys should scrap.
Honestly Josh the guys in the 80's were training at your half marathon speed.
I had to laugh when you called yourself a coach.
Anybody with half a brain would have pulled Dayna back.
Oh well back to the drawing board.
Keep coming up with excuses.
This is like one of those Netflix shows...Josh v Fred
Yep, Josh was lipping off to a woman whose 10 k time is 4 minutes faster than him.
Fred, feel free to reach out to me via Facebook, email, phone. You know how to find me.
Even better, next time I'm in Toronto how about we chat about our training philosophies in person?
I'll leave you a standing invitation.
No point. You haven't done anything, and you never will.
Fred sounds like Jon Orange. If only we'd listen to them, we'd all be running sub-2 marathons.
Nope, you don't have the talent to run sub 2, even with drugs.
That's just stupid.

Fred is a former recreational runner who lived in Windsor, but now lives in Guelph. He has to be around 70 years old now. Likely has some sort of mild psychological disorder the explain his behaviour both online and off.
He was often creeping around the University track watching runners workout when I lived in Windsor and used the facilities. He moved to Guelph about 4-5 years ago now. It seems his presence on here has become increasingly unbearable.
Years ago I worked at a running shop in Windsor and he came in out of the blue to drop off his training logs to show us "what real training is like" from back in the 1970's. Total nut.
Thanks for the info about 'fred, I've had my suspicions about him for a while now, once or twice I even responded to some of his crackpot posts. It's his sort that gives us fellas of a more mature age a bad name. Also, you're right about the "increasingly unbearable" bit, unfortunately LR doesn't have an 'Ignore Poster' feature.

so what sort of times did uncle fred run?
Why is Josh calling out Fred for being a hobbyjogger? How fast was Fred?
He seems to know his sh*t, plus he's a birdwatcher. That makes him practically the most interesting man on Earth.
How fast did you run man? Also, you gonna fight Josh or what? I'll make a trip to the dot for that.

To be clear, I have no intention of "fighting" Fred.
I simply know that from seeing him around he would sing a very different tune talking about things in-person.
I'll let Fred have a moment of fame here and post his performances.
The gist of what I remember from seeing his logs years ago was consistently high, yet slow, jogging mileage (100-140mi week) with near constant injuries and excuses littering the training log.

Sounds about right, LSD, he'd be an Ernst van Aaken disciple from back in the day:
