No parents should have to bury their child.
Sad story.

A tragedy very sad.

Please don't lecture about trash because if you truly felt bad about her death, you at least would want to acknowledge the ugly truth about her death. If enough people had gotten as outraged about previous deaths of innocent kids as they do about thugs with rap sheets getting offed by the police, and taken steps to lower if not prevent black-on-black violence, Trinity Gay might still be alive.

What's ugly, embarrassing, and shameful, is that Trinity Gay, statistically stood a much greater chance of getting killed by random black on black violence, while the thug who killed her has a MUCH lower chance of being killed by the police. But whose death will be politicized by the media, and professional black hucksters; Whose death will Soros and BLM come riding to with its cavalry of rioters and arsonists, and whose death will the black community be mostly silent about?[/quote]
It's ugly... but it's the truth!
Shame that those leftists won't accept it and will cause even more black kids to die.

I've never seen a tread on here that does not fall off and turn embarrassing and without human empathy.
As a group of posters LRC, are trollers, at best
...and today, we'll have the pleasure of watching moronic athletes protest against the police. The same moronic athletes who glorify the gang / thug / street culture that is an exponentially greater threat to them and their loved ones than the police could ever be. Imbeciles.

awful news. condolences to Tyson Gay and their family. Being out at 4 a.m. is an obvious issue that would merit attention for the parents, who may not have known she was out. A murder is on an entirely different level and should be completely distinguished from the former. Anyone who thinks that guns should be so easily accessible in this society has a screw loose.
Will someone plase give this classless, soapboxing moron a good ban?

I agree!
Too bad it wasn't a selfish media member who was killed instead. But they'll compose their vitriol for a dollar instead to throw more good people under the bus. The unimaginative public will eat that crap up for breakfast.
First arrest made.

Stayed at same hotel with Tyson at '08 Trials. He had a lot of family there with him including his Mom & his kids. Super nice folks, all of them. I pray his faith is helping to sustain him through this. Tragic.

This.
The fact that the first impulse for so many of you is to criticize the girl/parents and not the shooting itself is disgusting.
A teenager being out late at night isn't a problem until it's made a problem (e.g. by the presence of hooligans with access to guns).
This is so wrong it's unbelievable. Look this is obviously a horrible tradgedy. But a fifteen year old being out until 4 am is DEFINITELY a problem.
If I came home at 4am my dad would have handed my a$$ to me. And since I knew that, I didn't do it.
Again, horrible tradgedy, but bad parenting.
And yes. The shooting was way worse. But it all could have been avoided.
Who says she was out til 4am? Perhaps she was up very early in the morning, headed to some activity and grabbing a breakfast?
People are too quick to judge.

This is the problem with the media and social media. It encourages rumors and gossip where it's merely destructive to the few directly involved. But that's what the media wants, because they'll profit because of this nature of some shallow individuals.

lol too true; such a good descriptor of LetsRun.
I'm only here to point out that it was a Cook Out and the majority of those are drive thru only and sometimes have a walkup window but the business model typically doesn't involve a dining area so the Waffle House free wifi study session theory that has been floated on here goes out the window with that knowledge unless someone on here has been to the UK Lexington Cook Out and can confirm that it is one of the few with a dining area.
Cook Out's get pretty ridiculous around 2:00 am but are generally pretty safe and well lit. I'm not a parent but I wouldn't have a problem with my child of high school age frequenting a business like this while they're open regardless of the hour, especially in a group, its essentially a drive-thru. College kids like to frequent them and they almost have cult status for young drunk people in the southeast, for example lots of UNC students will make the ill-advised drunk caravan drive to the Cook Out in Durham. So in summation she wasn't doing anything abnormal or suspect and its serious to this discussion that no one blames the victim or sidetracks this into BLM or whatever else bullshit that the archetypal LRC poster thinks and gets mad about while winning the local turkey trot or prematurely ejaculating in their 'smokin' hot wife or making $250k a year. Cook Out is much better fast food than the major chains and plenty of teenagers and young adults seem to disproportionately enjoy it so Trinity being there while they're open fits the narrative of a normal kid doing normal kid things. Can't describe this as anything other than as being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I hope you all f*cking drown honestly. A 15 year old dies, TG just suffered the most horrific loss a person can suffer, and all you miserable virgins can talk about is gun politics and criticize his parenting. Go kill yourselves. Now.
This can be both a time to offer condolences, and a time to learn. Alot of youth coming out of poverty have talked about how their youth coaches not only coached but also drilled into them life lessons. Nino Fennoy constantly talked to the young girls he coached in East St Louis (including JJK) about the importance of abstinence from sex drinking and drugs so they could achieve their dreams. Tori Bowie's grandmother constantly reminded her two granddaughters that boys could wait until they got their education and had established themselves. Lebron's youth coach who took him in during elementary school taught him about routine, chores, daily curfews, etc. so as not to get caught in a bad situation.
Being out at 4am for anyone, and especially a 15 year old is not wise. It's not that she was up to no good, it's that alot of other people up to no good are out at that time... and you're playing Russian roulette with your life at that time of night. Good teachable moment for parents and youth coaches.
Her twitter:
(edited to comply with the letsrun profanity filter)
11:07pm: "Think I'm bout step out **** it"
12:18am: "So many ****** in this party is rockin fake *** Michael Kors 😂"
2:19am: "Of course they start shootin 🙄😂"
2:56am: "Why is cookout fat"
(article says shots were fired shortly before 4am)
I'm definitely curious if law enforcement has reports of gunshots earlier in the evening, and if that tweet was from Cook Out (where she was killed) or somewhere else...
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
