No one really thinks reparations are going to actually happen. Demanding them are a proclamation to the faith.
There are aspects of this new religion that are helpful and others aspects that aren't.
Dialogue and getting whites to acknowledge their privellege only gets things so far.
What is really needed is policy changes -
1. End the war on drugs. It creates a black market economy that tempts underserved black men from finishing school or seeking legal employment and imprisons them for long periods, removing them from their children and all but assuring them of lowly existences afterward.
2. Long-Acting Reproductive Contraceptives should be given free to poor black women (and other poor ones too). It is well known that people who finish high school, hold a job, and do not have children until they are 21 and have a steady partner are almost never poor.
3) Better education and teach black kids to read in the best method possible for them.
4) Promote and easy access to vocational training. Not everyone is suited for universities. With a couple years of training, people can make a good living as electricians, plumbers, or hospital technicians ect.
In the early 1960s in the USA, the overall out-of-wedlock birthrate was 5-7% and for blacks about 20%. Then in the late 1960s came the widespread use of artificial contraceptives followed by legal abortion in the early 1970s.
The data are in: On top of legal abortion, now in the USA, the overall out-of-wedlock birthrate is about 41% and for blacks about 70%.
Put differently: the 1960s called. After you shake off the psychedelic dust, please return their bell bottoms.
