A real runner would have made them pull the plug or physically grab you off of it, not just stepped of like a pu$$y.

Man, this thread reminds me of Moen. I hope that cat is doing alright. He had a few rough years.

By cat, do you mean Moen or the cat on Pirate/cat/gun girls shoulder? Wasn't that the same thread?
Brandon Moen has you beat.

Hahahahaha. I wish Felicia the best as well. She must be like 30-35 now. Crazy to think about.
You need to remember to capitalize Pirate/Cat/Gun Girl appropriately to show the proper respect.
I meant Moen and I had completely forgotten about the cat, so thank you for the laugh. I sincerely hope that Moen is okay. That kid had some heart.

Observer of bad advice wrote:I call bs. Every gym treadmill I have used shuts off at one hour. I used to try to get long runs in on them. Ticks you off to have it revert to zero and then have to start it back up.
One could spend less time restarting the treadmill after an hour than waiting at a stoplight running outside. How hard is that?
Naw. At the half hour mark you fire up the treadmill next to you and jump over when it gets up to speed. Think outside the box dude.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTAAsCNK7RAI did a 3 hour treadmill run with no problem but a couple weeks later I got kicked off after 2 hours for "sweating too much".
After changing clothes, I wrung out my underwear and socks in the drinking fountain before I left.

That's a nice gym. I'd never run on Cybex treadmills before, but I really liked them. The deck is really solid. It feels almost like running on the road. Did you notice that they have "high scores" on the treadmills, sort of like old arcade games?

Nope..... wrote:User error? I've done 90+ minute runs at gyms on both Precor and Life Fitness mills. No problems and I could have gone longer. What models turn off after an hour?
They are programmable. Most gym treadmills are programmed to 1 hour max with 5 minute cool down. My local gym and also one I go to in Cincy have several machines programmed at 4 hours (Precor machines).
This is correct. In fact, you can look up how to program them online, (unless there's a way to change the default codes, which I doubt). I reprogrammed the treadmills at my gym for longer duration and higher max speed.

I'd have kicked you out just for saying "whilst" or any other term rooted in Ye Olde English.
If you had said 2-hr time limit and gone with "I was on pace for a 2:30" then I would give you 10/10. Otherwise, 9/10. I can see this happening, but clearly you might want to find a new gym and during your tour you should ask about the policy and whether you could run for 3 hours at a time on a treadmill.

How ironic. You could go over to the showroom and see shirtless women being watched by a crowd. Who's goes to Vegas to workout, fer crissakes?
Except between the sheets, of course, (Thanks Suzy FH).
Serious question for your non-serious post: If you would have run right off the sled, out the front door and onto the roads for the last 3+ miles and cracked 3 would it have counted? Did you have a watch on?
Most gyms have some kind of 30 minute policy, but rarely enforce it. Usually they only make people get off when the gym is packed in January. Find a different gym. I've trained 3+ hours on the elliptical before with no one giving a crap. Would never marathon on a treadmill though. Go outside.
Pirate/Cat/Gun Girl was one of the all-time best threads on LR.
The limo taking Brandon to the gym for the record attempt, his male model photos and expressions.
Pirate/Cat/Gun Girl was actually posing with a Crossman .177 pellet gun...hilarious stuff.
On pace to break 2:20 on the treadmill with cameras flashing, local news channels on the scene....until somebody stumbled and accidentally kicked the treadmill plug out of the wall. That poor kid took some of the worst abuse this place has ever had to deliver.
Can't you just move over to the next treadmill?

Maybe the OP was a bit dehydrated and disoriented and didn't fully understand that the Olde English lady was asking to use a corn/flour mill.
