The guy's losing runners left and right and plugging the holes with unknown freshmen.
Bring back Harry.

Could you be specific please.
Ean DiSilvio (who would've been #1 or #2) and Will Cather quit within the past month. They cited Gondak from what I've heard.
I only hope he doesn't waste Slagowski in January. What's going on with Disilvio and Cather?

Whats the story? Why did they cite Gondak? Where are they going? Released?
Don't know yet...I know a few alums who might but I don't understand it myself
Can we bring this forum back? Look at all the guys, including Slag quit within the past year.
What has Gondak ever done to improve the psu distance program? The assistant coach and the quality of his recruits are the only reason they stay relevant. I know it's hard to remove a coach like that, but they should consider it looking at how many people have left because of him.
No problem with women's and mid distance program. Other NE region teams are getting distance recruits. Just the current trend.

Penn State has been getting sub 9:00 recruits during Gondak's reign yet none of them come even close to PSU runners from the 70s, most of them 9:20-9:30 in high school. The distance program is dead and won't ever revive under Gondak.
Jaxson Hoey is no longer on the roster. Not a good sign especially with his brother being the top returning 800 recruit in the country.

Penn State seems to be phenomenally bad at recruiting and developing local talent.

They actually recruit very well. It's just the development that is sub-par.

I'm talking specifically about local kids (like Cather) with that comment. They don't really look at the local 1:52-1:53 types and bring them in and try to develop them. If Harry had used the same approach, he wouldn't have had a WR 4X800 team, as two of those four kids were local guys who had run 1:52 and 1:54 in high school.

To be fair, they seem to be pretty good at developing kids to run quick...
in February
They ran well in June at NCAA's. As well in August, ya know-at the World Championships?
If you guys had to guess, will Gondak still be head coach in 2020?
Umm-they did win their 1st ever Big 10 Men's Track and Field Championship this past spring . I think the coaches are doing very well. Counting all 6 sports with a combined staff and it's easily the best all around program in the Big 10. The coaches have high standards and make life difficult for those athletes who do not buy in which results in athletes quitting .
