She just crushed it the final lap keeping the pressure on Hassan.
Great, great run.

I love how she immediately clamps on the pace and goes for it, not waiting for any one.
You must be new to the sport.

Old record of 12.21 one of the many remaining from the 1980's. Hope to see more fall later, 800 is the most likely. There are many others.
Yeah good thing we got rid of all those doping Russians, huh. Let the "clean" slate of new records commence.
Well, I was wrong about Jock dropping three seconds in his second Euro race this year. But it is all about the championships. He still has time to get it right again.
Fine race and big pr from Brandon McBride! He's only 0.4s back of Brazier's NCAA time.
McBride should be coached by Johnny Gray. 1:40 or bust.
beautiful race. Her form is so much better than Hassan. She looked like a pro running away from a lanky teenageri hope she's clean.....

Nobody seems to have mention Amanda Eccleston's 4:03.25, over a 1.5 second PR. She had PRed five days before, also.
Geez, what does it take for an American female to get a black page on Letsrun?
I think Shaquille Walker would of had a good chance of making the team if he would have been put in the final. If he wouldn't have been tripped at the end of the semi, he would have beaten Jock and he wouldn't have been in the final.

Shamier Little's troubled continue. She was right there with 2 hurdles to go and faded.
Bosse 1:43.88 looked great in 800 but Brian McBride got a PR in a very nice run 1:43.93.
Charles Jock -1:48 last place. Unbelievable how he put it together to make the US team.

Wow.................
I'd never seen a picture of Donkova. It is pure cowardice that the IAAF has never taken any steps to strip medals and records from those cheating athletes from the Eastern Bloc, from known doping programs.
sub 4:04 for Uceny is actually quite good and possibly her best since the falls. But Muir was outstanding, gutsy, and becomes a gold medal contender if the farce of Dibaba does not shadow the games (or maybe she'll just run sub par and not figure in the medals?).

Uceny has already run 4:03 this year. So at least she's consistent, which makes her comeback look better.

She did not finish last. Check the results before posting.
The reason Blankenship beat Manzano is because he got in his way and impeded his progress.
Leo Manzano is 31 years and 10 months old.
Want to guess how many other Americans that specific age or older have run 3:36.62 (his time at the Trials) or faster for 1500m? Any place, any time, any conditions?
If you're having a hard time coming up with anybody, for certain, other than Scott, Spivey, Maree and Lagat, there's a good reason: there isn't anyone else. Four American record holders, past and present (Spivey at 2000m).
Would a reasonable person conclude that Leo was "unfit" on the day of the Trials final? Or, rather, that he was a spectacularly fit (almost) 32 year old who lost out to a 26 year old Blankenship?
The reasonable can decide.
Idiot Alert!!!

Bolt looked good but Gatlin could take him tomorrow. In 3 weeks from now??? Could be a different story
If 19.89 is where he's at currently, I don't see him improving to 19.3-19.4 form in 3 weeks. He has presumably lost some training time due to the hamstring injury and/or travel to Germany.
I wonder whether Bolt knew he wasn't in great form, and effectively forced the Jamaican athletics federation to pick him for the Olympics by withdrawing from the trials with injury. Or colluded with them to do this. Not a big deal if he did, as nobody would want to see Bolt missing the Rio Olympics.
