B...but....100m?
Definitely the weakest day.
Inikia Mcpherson ( The cocaine jumper) is not doing too well. She does have a great look though, the gauges are quite interesting
Zach Ziemek needs a 4:39.80 to break the collegiate record for the decathlon. That would be a PR for him so it's going to be close.
only 3 women have cleared 1.89 so far
US high jumping is in a major down year

This gonna be a tough battle between Taiwo and Scantling for 3rd.
Scantlings got a 90 point lead, but Taiwo has a much better 1500m.
Taiwo may be tired from all those jumps in the pole vault, we'll see if he can execute.
He has an 87 point lead, which is 14 seconds in the 1500.
Scantling's best is 4:44 (his best this year is 5:07, which he achieved last year). Taiwo's best is 4:16, but that's a while ago. He is usually good for sub 4:20 however. His best this year is quite a bit slower than that (4:31).
Unless Scantling can pull a rabbit out of his hat, he will be watching the games on TV.
I guess that if you are Scantling, you shoot for 4:40 and hope for the best.

THere were only 4 women coming in with the 1.93 m starndard. Of those 4, 3 are still left - Lowe, Cunningham and Patterson.
Inika McPherson is jumping well and has hit it in the past so she could nab the third spot. She's the woman who lost a US title due to a cocaine positive.
Patterson is now out. She will be on the team unless Amina Smith or McPherson makes the nexst height which is the IAAF standard of 1.93m
McPherson looks like a chick you would not want to mess with. She absolutely flys over the bar at only 5'4".

So either Smith or McPherson will need to pass 1.93 or else Patterson gets to go to Rio?
The outfits are getting smaller and smaller. Oh my.
She flies on the approach, she looks much faster than the others.
McPherson cleard 1.93 on first attempt

They have a special radio here for the field events and on the long jump they said Jarrion Lawson who just jumped 26'11" was 6" behind the board and also jumped diagonally 6" so it was close to a 28' jump.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
