Well, since this claim can never be tested, it's an utterly meaningless statement. Why are you wasting everybody's time with this?
Renato coached Rita Jeptoo in the past.
Renato has stated that Rita only used EPO before the 2014 Chicago marathon.
The statement was false.
The IAAF determined that Rita had also taken EPO before the 2014 Boston Marathon when she ran her PR of 2:18:57. Her results from Boston were removed and she still owes the Boston Marathon $175,000, which she has not returned. She was banned for 4 years.
Rita's former training partner Jemima Sumgong has won the London marathon and the 2016 Olympic Marathon gold medal. Rita and Jemima were both managed by Federico Rosa.
Pamela Chepchumba was also managed by Federico Rosa when she was banned for EPO at the 2003 World XC Championships.
Matthew Kisorio (58:46 half-marathon) was also managed by Federico Rosa. He was banned for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, but talked in an interview about the use of drugs which were injected and increased the amount of oxygen in the blood, which increased his stamina and made him feel "so smooth" when he was running. That sounds like EPO to me.
Renato has also stated that the use of EPO "is a common practice for the treatment of the anemia associated with malaria in Kenya." He said that this was the explanation for the EPO positive for Wilson Erupe, a 2:05 marathon runner who received a doping ban for EPO.
It is just a coincidence.
