Without any doubt Springsteen and Dave Matthews. Incredibly boring songs fronted by terrible "singing" and a marginally competent horn section (inclusion of which by definition means it ain't rock n roll).

1. Kiss (shit)
2. The Rolling Stones (boy band). Keith, Brian OK though
3. Rush (drummer no feel)
4. Pink Floyd (later eras only, Syd OK, Gilmour OK when not singing)
5. Pearl Jam (indie for jocks, derivative crap)
Agreed, except for early 1970s RUSH. They were incredible with John Rutsey on drums.

Again, the running continues to show just how it's followers are...lmao. runners really are no different the the drama class or the HS marching band in HS, just a bunch of no talent nerds
You repeated yourself twice in one sentence while trying to pose as superior. Nice work.
Not technically a band, I suppose, but my number one pick would be Frank Sinatra. If the coffee shop is playing Sinatra, I find it to be perfectly pleasant background music, but there's nothing about his music that explains the fervency of his fans (past and present).
To: Cap''n Howdy,
I'm not sure who the BEST band of all time may be, but I'd rank 'Derrick and the Dominos, The Stones and Santana' all ahead of the Beatles.
Sheesh. Gone this far and no mention of Fleetwood Mac?
Derek and the Dominoes put out one record

And you would be alone.

In general The Beatles were stylistically very similar to the Beach Boys, just lagging behind by a year or two. Paul McCartney cited Brian Wilson as his biggest influence and many of The Beatle's chroniclers describe how elements of the Beach Boy's music would be quickly adapted into new ideas for The Beatles..
Regarding the Beach Boys, where do you think Brian Wilson got his inspiration from? Answer: The Beatles.
"It wasn’t really a rivalry, though. I was jealous!†Wilson says with a hearty laugh. “It was really just mutual inspiration, I think. I would get to hear their records before they came out and I was totally blown away by Rubber Soul. And Sgt. Pepper’s? I was totally blown away by that. But it was inspirational, too. Then I did “Good Vibrations†and Smile and it was exciting. I got into it and really produced my head off.â€

Wow those guys sucked. They ruined rock and roll. Made it commercial garbage. Now don't get me wrong, Don't Stop Believin'- catchy tune, however, the lasting effect on rock: DISASTROUS

Inspiration, sure. They both inspired each other. Pet Sounds was partially inspired by Rubber Soul, which then whent on to inspire Sgt. Peppers, but Pet sounds was definitely more cutting edge in terms of musical innovations used than rubber soul at least. And in regards to Sgt Pepper's inspiring smile: while that might be true Wilson said Smile never got released because they were trying to be too innovative. They did things that had never been done (like compressing 90 minutes of tape into 3 minute songs). They took a big risk with smile and it didn't pan out, but it still went on to effect the way music was made. The Beatles never really took similar risks. They did what they knew would work and did it well.
Music production/innovation doesn't happen in a vacuum. I'm sure Frank Zappa's sound engineering was influenced by lesser known people before him too. But influential is not the same as innovative and unless I'm missing something, the innovative things that The Beatles are praised for came shortly after their peers (who the Beatles highly respected) did it first
Metallica (loud, derivative meathead shouting)
Rage Against the Machine (loud, derivative fake tough guy shouting)
Beastie Boys (loud, derivative white boy rap)
Greenday (Britney spears disguised as alt rock)
Elvis Costello (just awful on so many levels)
Paul Simon and Sheryl Crow (trite to the max) a close runner up.
1:49.84 - 800m Freshmen National Record - Cooper Lutkenhaus (check this kick out!!)
Emma Coburn to miss Olympic Trials after breaking ankle in Suzhou
