Dear PC Coach,
Why do you guys lock the gate at your track? I have to always drive down to Skyline or Mount Olympus for track sessions. Any possibility that might change?

A couple of years back some young kids went inside the fence and set the pole vault mats on fire. It burned down the bleachers. Nearly 100,000 dollars later the school decided to close the facilities unless someone was on site to supervise.
I know, it sucks to not have it open to the public. Before that incident it was. It is not a decision of any of the coaches. It was made higher up.
Any possibility of getting a key, and locking it behind me? Heck, I'd even make a "donation" to the school to get it.
Ratcliffe would be good in that one too

The real shame is that Nike Nationals and Foot locker west are on the same day. It is set up in a way that prevents Clinger from running foot locker. Because clinger is on a great team he will not get a chance to go up against the best individuals who are at Foot Locker.
Clinger would be welcome to run at Footlocker Nationals if he qualifies.
Good luck to Casey at Brooks PR. Its been a long year for American Fork. Sure like to watch the race. May the distance Gods smile upon Casey Clinger!
So Patrick Parker (Junior) just ran a 4:06 at adidas dream mile. Amazing race for him, just amazing. American Fork HS is unbelievable. They now have three JUNIORS who can go 4:06 or better. Never seen the like in the history of HS distance in America. Congrats Patrick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a results page link
Think I just looked up 2016 adidas dream mile and found results. It was won in 4:04. If you go to Runnercard, and look at Boys 1600 5A UTHSAA state meet last month results, think Patrick was 4th at State, behind Casey Clinger and the other AF runner. Think Patrick only ran 4:13 at BYU altitude. Casey had the 4:07 that day. Think the other AF guy (Junior) was like 4:11 that day. At 1:45 Cal time today, Casey is in the 3200 at Brooks PR. Oh MY!

Yeah haha what has Phillip Rocha done as a miler that would put him anywhere near the level of Slagowski or Hunter? 4:11 PR vs. 3:57 indoor and 3:59. Not to mention that although Clinger is a big talent, he's still at least a good 8+ seconds off where Hunter/Slagowski are (even farther from Hunter - and even more because he ran 1600 and they both went the full mile). Tamagno would also smoke Clinger in a mile.
A little skinny on BYU State meet altitude. Last year Connor Mantz took second in the 1600 with a 4:13,lost to Josh Collins. So Mantz gets invited to Dream Mile and runs a 4:08. In 2013 Senior Ben Saarel runs 4:07.95 at BYU State and goes to Dream Mile, wins it with a 4:02, beating Ches I think. Junior Casey Clinger, two days ago breaks Ben's 4:07:95. I see Tamagno has signed up to go head to head with Casey in the 2 at Brooks PR. Several amazing guys in the race, guess we will see. Casey and Slagowski have not gone this route of running with the pros.[/quote]
Tamagno is no 2-miler.
You would think that Tamagno could run a very good two mile with 4:01 mile and a Mt. Sac course record. That means 8:40s.
Clinger "only" 3rd in 8:51 today, with a 57 last 400. I was pretty surprised by his race strategy. He didn't make any moves until the last 400, when everyone kicked. I wonder if he was trying out running in a pack. Looks like he can do it decently well, but his best bet going forward is probably to take the reins in the middle of the race and grind.

You idiot .
Perhaps , confluence .
This isn't even close to being worth 4:02.5. Guessing you used NCAA tables? Nice try. Go check Daniels. Barely worth 4:06.

What, trying out running in a pack? What the hell is that? Is that a skill? Ooops, stepped on your foot? Sorry, not used to running in a pack.
C. Clinger destroyed his Utah 5k XC record by 10 seconds yesterday. He is well ahead of last year. American Fork top 3 ....I have never seen the like, of these three, in the USA in High School distance history.
Yep, fastest state meet in our history without a doubt
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
