Smooth, So smooth. Looks so much more economical in his form than Hunter. I hope Penn State doesn't ruin this kid like they have a other talents.

Impressive--what a great time to be a fan of T&F. Also fun to speculate on how much more he can do, but for some runners, looking super-smooth and controlled is actually a sign that they're giving their peak performance. I hope Slagowski goes even faster this season; I just don't think "looking easy" gives much indication one way or the other.

They will. He'll run 1:46/3:54 there, where I think he would be able to run 1:44/3:51ish if he ended up with Powell.
Also, the kid that led him out is 1:51.7 guy (and ok state commit) Garrett Calhoun, who seems to have hit a serious wall this season. I was anticipating that both these guys would break 1:50 this year. Ty Axtman (former BSU runner) is the coach and runs em hard.
This guy needs to race Hunter now! What are they waiting for? Set this up and make it happen. Two HS studs going under 4 in the same mile race would be awesome. We need this, they need this, the Sport needs this.
Michael Granville ran 1:48 when he was a sophmore. BFD to Slag running 1:48. He probably won't end up as the fastest 800 guy this season ending up behind the guy from Utah.

That will happen as usual.

He appears to have a short choppy stride.

Like Casmir, kidder, Harris?
The Dream Mile wasn't discontinued, just won't be held at the Grand Prix anymore. It'll be in Boston June 17th I believe.
When is the Slagger going to race some serious competition? Anyone know? Don't think he will run faster in the 800, the mile could be 3:56-7 though
Hmmm. Hadn't heard Hunter or Slag mention it, I wonder if either has it on their radar. Slag did mention Brooks PR.
He's only .3s away from 147xx and has been running solo in low key HS meets. Of course he'll go faster in the 800 with competition. Question is - how much.

Is that his teammate? wrote:

He appears to have a short choppy stride.
He's also really tight up top.
Easy fix

Good point... might help drop those arms a bit
Kudos to other kid for an honest effort.
