With all the talk about the other runners-this is also the Armed Forces Cross Championships. The Army looks pretty good with Mitchell, Kirkpatrick, Goff-Pennington ran in the 51's at 2004 10 miler. Who will win this championship? Lets give it up for our soldiers
Kirkpatrick was 12th in last years race, Goff took 2nd in 2003 Army-Ten in 48:43-Pennington ran descent 51:51 at 2004 Army Ten. I saw this guy run in Washington-hope to see more from the kid.Mitchell has gone high 47's for 10 and 2:16's for marathon-not a bad team. Navy will have Clemens-ran 2:28 in New York City. Marines and Air Force always in the mix. Good Luck to our airmen, sailors, marines and soldiers!
You forgot mention a National Guard (Army) runner who seems to be in good shape; Dan Browne is running for the Army, as well as Nike.
RunintheSun, I'm putting my money on a certain Oregon NG NCO to win the old man division if he chooses to run. Are you running it this year or going back to Lincoln for the marathon? I'll be back in Oregon in the next few days. Have 2 weeks of leave. My running is sucking over here in Iraq. limited time and the mud and attacks suck. Ponch is still recovering from what I hear-will try to check on him when I get back. I know I will be in the hunt in 2006 for the championship. I'll be 30 and this year will have made me mentally tougher. sub 2:25 here I come!

The members of the 12K team are: Teddy Mitchell, Nate Pennington, Scott Goff, Ryan Kirpatrick, Blackmon(is injured and will not be running), Dan Browne and Liam Collins. 4K is Sandu Rubechec and some other guys I dont know.

Hey Nate & Dan,
I am not a big fan of Cross country. I am running 80 miles a week preping for the Lincoln Marathon where I will be 40. I am heading up Ft Lewis way presidents weekend and hope to see Ponch while I am up there.
I don't know if I will be able to run the Armed forces marathon next fall, they have created a rule to prevent me from doing so.
