I think it was Steve Sundell last year (from Columbia) who ran 7:59 and didn't make the trip to Nationals.
What will it take this year? I know there have been some more top times, but if you break 8:00 do you get in? I can't see how McDougal's 8:01 will hold up?
...Is that he'll probably qualify and go for the 5k, you've heard it here first, as he's not a speedster like the other (top) guys, where in the 5k he'd have a better chance.
Look for him to run 13:50 next time out!
