Drama - Her, I feel like too many people were turned off by its premise to take it seriously.

No one rates Warriors high but many know about it. It's a classic!

I like your choice. "The Warriors" is a terrific film that was generally not well received when it was released. Some of the negative reaction had to do with the possibility that it could incite street violence and glamourize gangs. (The same concerns were voiced when "West Side Story" came out in the early '60s.) Some of the criticism had to do with the stylized and unrealistic portrayal of gangs. Of course, that's exactly what it was intended to portray. Its basic ploy was classic, like Homer's Odyssey, with a small group of warriors trying to return safely to home while dangerous creatures lay in wait for them along the way. But its stylized portrayal of gang-fighting went beyond the choreography of West Side Story to arrive at a depiction of gang life in NYC as something like Halloween in Hell. A number of the scenes and costumes seemed to strongly influence some culturally important works a few years later, notably Michal Jackson's "Beat It" music video and perhaps Mel Gibson's "The Road Warrior." I think "The Warriors" is a lot of fun, and I've recommended it to young people whose minds have not been completely deadened by the big-budget action films that dominate the genre today.
obviously plenty of sarcasm in some of these replies, compounded with replies from the sarcasm-challenged, but i'll offer two from the same director with the caveat that one has a cult following:
being there
harold and maude
Swingers
Vision Quest
John Wick was a great action movie. Probably the best club/fight scene ever filmed. (Next best club/fight scene goes to collateral) It really surprised me. Interesting to see what the sequel will do.
Another amazing movie I recently rewatched, Fury. A lot of emotions felt through this movie for sure.
To the OP warrior is a great movie. Another one I watched around the same time that I couldn't believe was as good as it was, GOON. Honestly, you won't believe how good it is. Going into it you think a dumb hockey movie maybe some comedy but, you get so much more.
I know I put a lot of recent movies but that's just what I have watched recently. I could come up with a better list but these just popped into my head.
Gattaca
Top Secret
Real Genius
Donnie Darko directors cut.
Death Hunt with Charles Bronson
First Blood came out the year later and completely ripped it off down to the siege scence in the cabin and is an inferior version.
The film was loosely based on a true story

Tremors... funny scifi that had a ton of memorable quotes.
Burt Gummer: Broke into the wrong godd*mn rec room, didn't ya!
Valentine McKee: I can't believe we said no to free beer!
Earl Bassett: D*mn it Valentine, you never plan ahead, you never take the long view, I mean here it is Monday and I'm already thinking of Wednesday
Earl Bassett: Run for it? Running's not a plan! Running's what you do, once a plan fails!
Kicking and Screaming.

If you're referring to the one by the people who made Barcelona - then hell yeah that was an awesome movie. Throw Barcelona on that list too.
If you're referring to the Will Ferrell / Mike Ditka soccer movie then no.
