LOL at all of these comments directed at one legal coach on the same day that Hajo Seppelt presents MORE evidence of the IOC pressuring the IAAF to cover up doping (lift the ban on Russia), and that is almost ALL distance running:

I saw plenty of college teams having trouble with batons at Penn, including Tennessee, South Carolina, and UTech from Jamaica. Also it looked like Isiah Young failed to get the baton because he left early; This is more nerves than coaching failure. It is not nearly as easy as slow a$$ distance losers think, when crowd/TV pressure is factored in
More Kenyans have tested positive for doping in just the last 3 years than all Jamaicans or all American sprinters in history.
COMPETITIVE DISTANCE RUNNERS ARE THE BIGGEST PILE OF TRASH IN SPORTS HISTORY

Ok, I am going to put this out there, the rumor is Dennis solicited bribes from Female athletes in the 2015 World Championships Team pool to run the 4 X 100 final and 4 X 400 final in Beijing. The word is many paid the bribes to be on the team, as the quote from Dennis was, "I DO NOT CARE IF THE TEAM WINS, AS LONG AS I AM GETTING PAID!"
Is this why Tori Bowie did not run, the bronze medalist - the first time in US history a medalist in the 100 m did not run on the relay final.
Look at the Star Athletics roster, a few of these athletes have served doping bans, the Qatar athlete, Femi, while working with Dennis. By the way, the F..k up at Penn was not Tyson, it was Isaiah Young who runs for Dennis as his personal coach, making Dennis a Walking Conflict of Interest and Bad for the Sport in General). By no means should Isaiah have been on the A relay, the entire B relay in the 4 X 100 m is better than Isaiah but they don't have Dennis as there personal coach. -
I watched the relay today with a high school sprinter who was shocked that this had happened yet again to Team USA. It would be depressing to have it happen in Rio.
In addition to the media, USATF members should also be asking these questions to Team USA leadership. Perhaps letsrun could help organize this effort. -
Isiah Young has the second fastest 100m time by an American this year. He should have been on the A team where he will likely be replaced by Bromell, but he is a 200m guy who competed in the world championships in the 200 last year.
Distance runners are the scum of the earth. -
Yeah, Isaiah was 6th in his heat in Beijing and 31st in the World is as bad as any American has ever done and he is coached by Dennis, who gives preference to his athletes over and over again as Whitney should never have been in the relay pool with no PR in 2015 for 100m without wind! Her PR is from 10th grade without wind!
Dennis is a JOKE and if you want 2 relay medals out of 4 in Rio, one gold and one silver, keep it up. There are some athletes who will not run for Dennis. -
By the way, Dennis only experience with coaching a relay team before being hired by Max Siegel was NONE, ZERO, NOT ANY AT ALL!
-
I though DM was Hightowers hire.
-
It is very early in Germany. I have to say Dennis has no problem with German girls when he is in country. He loves them and in 2015 he did not seemed to be married in Monaco!
He told me that he did get "special" stuff for his athletes from a Mexican Discus thrower. I heard this from him and the story how he had sexy with his wife for 11 hours as it was her birthday. This is bullshit, his stamina ends in 15 minutes, my cousin can tell you. -
Ok, do you have any idea that Stephanie Hightower is a unpaid/free volunteer when it comes to income. The President does not hire a single person, not one. The President is in charge of the volunteers. The CEO makes the hiring decisions. The High Performance Committee per the bylaws of USATF (search bylaws on the www.usatf.org webite and then search for relay coach) is to select and recommend the relay coach, which never happened. Dennis was not selected by the Athletes or the High Performance, he was selected entirely by the National Office, learn the game before you comment on the play, please.

Dennis Mitchell, Relay Coach, is A KING SCUM BAG as he has no way to earn a living with any skill other than making money in Track and Field! King Bullshit artist too!

Don't you have some cold fusion work to do? -
Is Mitchell on the payroll of the Jamaican Federation? How else can the USA men's 4 x 100 have the lead so many times in a 4 x 100 only to screw it up? Is Jamaica paying him to somehow screw up the relay so Jamaica can win?
-
Really that's dumb wrote:

That is a Straw Man rebuttal.
How well do you have to know the exact bylaws of the game to identify the key players of the game?
Are you suggesting Hightpwer was not someone that held sway with the "National Office" team/groups/committees?
Please. -
he sucks
but even if he was good he should be fired
what message are we sending
reward the cheaters!!!!! honor the cheaters !!!!
bad message to send -
Dennis Mitchell can get it done. He was a world class performer for many years. Was it proven he took drugs or was he absolved a year later?
I have heard of people losing a whole year because they took cold medicine!!! -

I might consider the "nerves" excuse except these guys are supposed to be older and more experienced.
How hard is it to walk off your spots, mark it, focus on it and go, and stick your hand back at the right time and have a baton slapped into your hand?
Obvious easy enough for Jamaica. -

World class performer does not mean you can coach. While yes he has shown he can coach individuals he has also shown he CANNOT coach relay teams to get the job done. -
While some will say he doesn't get much time to work with them on hand offs and that is true. The simple answer is, it's his job to figure out how to get it done in that small amount of time. He also gets the luxury of working with the best sprinters in the country, he shouldn't be trying to get amazingly fast but dangerous hand offs in. They are fast, make the hand offs safe to start and tweak from there. We've all had bad hand offs before but this is ridiculous.
I would bet money that Small Triangle & 20 feet for their marks would work fine for all 3 hand offs. -
To be fair, there have been seasons when Houston's 4x100 has had severe trouble getting the stick around. It happens to everyone.
-
but it doesnt happen to everyone ALL THE TIME !!!!!
and everyone doesnt get the highest relay position in the country
and everyone isn't a drug cheat in that position!!!!
