5'11", 148 for me. I consume 3000-4000 calories per day and I run 70-75 mpw. Beer counts for a lot of those calories (2 craft beers per night, 5 nights per week). Based on my admittedly rudimentary understanding of how kcals work, (at least I know what a kcal is, right?!), 3500 very believable. Consider:
The average person burns 1500-2000 calories per day simply by living (I think...)
I run 10 miles per day which burns an additional 800-1000 calories (Right?)
I do push-ups/sit-ups regularly and am an active person overall. Let's count this for nothing, but assume that it keeps me in the high end of the 1500-2000 calorie scale.
My body is much more efficient that the average person's. My metabolism is fast (running does that, doesn't it?). This gives me a 20-25% calorie burning edge over the average fatty American. At least.
2000+0.25(2000)+1000 = 3500
That is just to maintain weight. Science doesn't lie, bro.
