I could easily see Ronaldo running sub 1:55.

Gareth Bale ran 2:24 at the age of 12. So I'd venture to guess they could break 2 fairly easily.
Yes, and he did it largely off of soccer training I believe.
I wonder why more sports stars don't go into masters athletics after they retire? Athletics is one of the few sports with real competition for older athletes. Obviously no financial incentive but it would be a good way to keep their competitive energies burning. It would be great to see guys like Federer, Ronaldo etc seriously switching to the 800m after they retire, lol. I bet they would get close to their age group world records after 5 years or so.
You also have to ask where all the great European 800m runners went? Probably into football/soccer.
Ronnie O'Sullivan, the snooker player (yes - snooker player) took up running part-time in his 30s to recover from his lifelong alcohol and cocaine addictions and was soon running a 34 minute 10k.
https://www.thepowerof10.info/athletes/profile.aspx?athleteid=38667I love how "basketball playerS" morphed into a single outlier who was a D1 wide receiver.
To add an equally uninformed guess, I'll say Ronaldo 1:57 and Messi 2:03
I would think right around 1:55 to 2:00.
My son, who never ran track of XC, played D1 and a year of professional soccer ran a 2:12 800m off of just soccer training in regular running shoes at age 14.
They are way too muscular and a bit clumsy. Maybe break 2:00 after 3 months of training.

I think you are underestimating how easy it is for athletic people to run fast.
I'd be surprised if it were slower than 2:05
Guys on my high school soccer team would show up and do that off soccer training. Basketball players would show up and run 50-51 off of basketball training
Sure they did
George Mills, the son of the English footballer Danny Mills (who played for England at the 2002 World Cup) won the European youth championship by over a second at age 17 in 1:48.4
Unfortunately he got a bad injury last year and is struggling to come back.
Right now , between 2:05 -2:10 maybe a little faster if they want to hurt
