Poodles are great to run with.
Why are you racist against them?

Word of warning: that's a very high energy dog. That means you need to exercise the dog A LOT.
You could play it Jeb! Bush speeches to drain its energy levels?
We've had 4 border collies over 25 years. Three of them have been great runners but, as others have said, they are neurotic and require incredible amt of activity and stimulation. Not the breed for first time dog owner. Last year we got a flat coat retriever. He's a great running companion and a wonderful pet. I would highly recommend.

I said it already higher up the thread. It doesnt get better than a poodle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be4vaT9kJ5EI have 3 dogs, a Australian Shepherd, Border Collie and a Husky. My border collie is the best running dog as she was easily trained and she never bites at the leash or anything. She just runs right at my side the entire time. Australian shepherd also a great running companion. Husky is good for shorter runs but still needs more training. All 3 are high energy, and a 8-10 mile run will not tire them out for the day.
I had a Golden Retriever who was a great running companion for easy runs up to about 12 km. They love people so they can get distracted on busy routes. I would put the dog on a leash when near lots of other people.

I used to have a Lab/pointer mix. Great for running. Disposition of a lab, but not as stocky. Miss that guy.
Go to the pound and adopt a 30-40 pound cattle dog mutt
Something that looks dirty and if you spill coffee on it you won't notice.... Anything heavier or prettier or to pure won't last.
My best running dog ever... And I have had several.
to many pups at the pound to buy a dog. Donate $500 and get a mutt.
