Ive supported Flo since back in the day when all it was, was a running log (flotrackr )and a few articles. And i really liked Ryan and Mark, there commentating wasn't always the best but it was the best out there, and Alex was pretty cool too and i actually enjoyed run junkie... and i didnt even mind the flo pro stuff I wanted to support them a little for what they have done... but now we got Gordon Mack who looks like Anders off of workaholics and that Meg chick who .... flotrack sucks

So you don't enjoy seeing more coverage for a pointless beer mile than they give to most of the other true track and field competitions either? Run Junkie has gone way down hill, probably one of the most disappointing parts of the new flotrack crew.

Be honest, do you miss Mitch Kastoff???? -
I've seen more and more complaints and criticisms of Flotrack than ever before on twitter and other message boards.. the only problem is that FloTrack is the "juggernaut" of running websites. They get to live stream a lot of big races.

I liked Mitch's writing. He at least had some intelligent articles up on that website.
I used to make Run Junkie a part of my weekly internet ritual, but I've since dropped it this year. There isn't really any insight to them anymore. I wonder if the people who make those videos now all have ADD and they are catering to the ADD viewers... -
HAHAHA yeah I do, i think i just miss the old group a lot! and like other commenters RUN JUNKIE used to give you a lot of information about what was going on, and was goofy. but now its like drinking 10 red bulls and talking as fast as you can... it makes me dizzy

They have uploaded at least 24 videos for this beer mile... you've got to be kidding me.

I noticed that and was surprised that they didn't have a WOW last week dedicated to improving your Beer Mile PR. -
WTF is their deal with the beer mile? It's bizarre as hell

It might be the only thing that the Flotrack crew can relate to anymore... or their only chance of getting any kind of glory - how fast they can now run a mile while stomaching a beer a lap. -

Yeah, they're like the idiot bros you go to high school with who THINK getting hammered and acting like an idiot is "cool" and a good time just because they have a preconceived and immature idea that drinking is cool. Okay, I get people do beer miles, and it's kind of fun to watch, but it's not the fvcking super bowl or olympics.
I haven't really been a part of the flotrack scene since they started charging, so I can't comment on what it was or what it turned into. I know that it was great when it first started though. I met Ryan at Pre-Nats one year when I was racing there, and he seemed like a very cool, mellow, friendly and down to Earth kind of guy... From what I see now it looks like the website caters to the dumbest demographic out there, kind of like youtube now vs how it was circa 2007. Once something gets popular, it's starts catering to stupid people. -
I always wonder why people care about the Beer Mile so much. Even on this site.
It's not that I look down on people or think they're losers for acting like dumb college kids (okay fine I do) but I'm just surprised by how much attention it receives, esp on flotrack. Do people really care this much? -

chimpy Chris Katon? -
I'm not against the concept of a beer mile, just really against all the hype it receives when Flotrack could be channelling the attention towards meaningful workouts or interviews.
-
Will flotrack and milesplit soon become one? Just watched something on milesplit that looked sadly similar to what I have seen on flotrack.
-
They already are one.
-
The big difference between Flotrack and Milepslit, though, is that Milesplit is primarily for HSers, whereas Flotrack is more professional/college centered.
They post a lot of junky stat/rankings stuff on mile split, but all of the HSers seem to enjoy the shows (especially Jimmy-ha!)
I'm sad with the rapid decline of flotrack as well, but I think mile split is just catering towards the target age. -

Jugger-not is more accurate.
Thankfully the big races are on TV or streamed by the events themselves like Usatf.tv. Flotrack has a few good college races and a beer mile.
