Interest in shoe fitting and custom insole system

I am currently on a team working to design a new shoe fitting and custom insole system and wanted to gauge interest in the running community. We are planning to have this system setup in specialty running stores. It will have a flat pressure sensing pad that you can run over, so it will dynamically map your foot's pressure distribution as you run. It will also 3D scan your foot to get your exact size and arch profile. It will then accurately match you with the best shoe. In addition, it will have a 3D printer type machine that can print a custom made insole specifically for your foot. The insoles would cost about the same as current generic insoles, $50-60, and would take about an hour to make. Would having this setup in a store attract you to that store? Would you want to use the custom insole feature or just use this for shoe sizing? Does the price seem reasonable? Any other comments are appreciated as well. Thanks!

Yes. As a person who works many hours on the feet and lifting I have included insoles in my Merrell's and court shoes for work shoes. For running though I rotate a series of 8, 12mm drop neutral shoes. Cycling shoes I also use an over the counter insole.

The reasons for the insoles in work shoes are to reduce fatigue from standing and keeping stable lifting for cycling insoles seem to help the patella track straight avoiding irritation ("runners knee")

I would be curious to use the mapping for shoe recommendation. The insole would be for work/cycling. I basically eliminated insoles in running shoes because of the bulk and affecting form. Any wear testers needed?

Thanks for your input! Your pain points are essentially what we are trying to solve. We are still in the panning stage, so no wear testers yet!

The 3D printer thing sounds interesting. I would rather pay a good podiatrist to make a set of orthotics that I can get adjusted to work for me. Every time I have tried an over the counter, footmaxx or put your foot in a box of foam product, the final result has been unwearable. Only with a podiatrist have I been able to get to the right combination of choice of materials (most are too invasive/aggressively too hard) and fit.
