That's Uncle WEJO on stage.

That is nothing. When I was a kid, we had to drive through the "red light" district to get to the arena where they had the circus, hockey and basketball.
I did not ask and my parents did not say anything. It was pretty obvious to me what was going on (I was about kindergarten age at the time). That is probably the best way to handle it.
There is really no reason to explain anything unless kids ask questions. Then, you just keep it vague. "Those are just dirty movies for adults." Most little kids will get that and move on.
Similar situation and method of handling it for my wife and me. For many, it's tough to avoid the huge marquee outside the strip club in the vicinity of Minneapolis, MN USA's Target Field (baseball stadium).
I can't recall that ever happened but we have a strip club nearby that you can't avoid driving past. I'd just tell them what went on there and that was that. I suppose I'd have done the same thing about ads for a trip club. It's part of life.
I had a friend comment on a billboard that read "Live Nude Girls".
His kid commented that it would be strange if they were dead.

This should be Post of the Day. Mind you, there probably is a market for the second kind though.
Is a stip club adult entertainment for the intellectually impaired?

So parents, have you been in a situation like this? Do the kids even notice the ad? If so, what do they ask and how do you reply?
My kids are pretty young (less than 3), so this hasn't been an issue for me yet as they don't really watch TV (occasionally a movie or a cartoon on Netflix / Amazon...but nothing with commercials). But, like one of the prior posters mentioned I will tell them the truth in language they can understand when / if it comes up.
But, Rojo, seriously this is unusual. I have never seen a commercial for a strip club during any sort of game where I live. You need to leave Baltimore (aka the anus of America) ASAP. Don't raise kids there....not that raising kids in Texas would be much better. Maybe move back to Ithaca?
You show them this video about what goes on behind those doors.
I use that opportunity to educate my children about the evils of the patriarchy that sexualizes and enslaves women everywhere.

my wife and I are thinking about having them myself
Sounds difficult
Tell them from the time they are 2 "Some people make bad choices. We try not to." or "Some people do x. We don't." When they are 6, see an ad for a strip club and ask what it is you say "some people take off their clothes for money. We don't."
This will be far from the most uncomfortable moment you will have as a parent.

Now let's move on to sex. Take a look at the poverty in our society and you will find broken homes.
Haha! OMG you are so full of it. "Broken homes" happen across all income distributions. Poverty exacerbates it. I love your other pious and false claims.
Rojo, you don't have a PVR that skips commercials? Why aren't you watching on a PVR anyway?
Don't lie to the kid. Say something age appropriate if the topic comes up. If you get all panicky about it, the topic will come up and the kid won't put it down until you calm down.
Don't lie to the kid or insist on not speaking about it. It will only supercharge the topic.
"That's where your college fund went."
If you want to delve deeper, you can explain that it went to someone who was "working their way through college" just to keep the educational theme going.

That's what I was thinking. Move out of the hood Rojo. I live out in Aberdeen so we should have the same lineup but I don't have cable. I do free over the air and Sling TV and Netflix. I never see those types of commercials on the local channels.

The strip clubs are easy, it's the "4 hour erections" that are a bit tougher.
a bit "harder" you might say.
It's not a big deal. When I was a kid, I used to watch "Married with Children" with my family in the room all the time. Al Bundy was at the Jiggly room in half of the episodes.
