* If you run more, you will either get faster or injured
* You get slower as you get older
* If you want to PR, run even splits; if you want race, draft behind the lead pack and try to outkick them
* If you don't have enough speed to succeed at a given, move up to the next longest distance and try to succeed there
* It's all about power-to-weight ratio, so increase your power, decrease your bodyweight or do both
* We're all narcissists with self-esteem problems
* The 800 tends to be considered the most painful race
