Osako crushed the Japanese 5,000m record this year by what, 7-8 seconds? He has been the only somewhat bright spot for the Japanese men's distance team in Beijing. He finished .2 from making the final and had his best closing speed in his career. Did you see how the rest of the Japanese distance men ran?
