It didn't turn up nothing.
It turned up that there is documented evidence that Rupp took testosterone as a teenager and that Salazar tested how much androgel he can rub on someone without testing positive. It also turned up that NIKE lab doctors were encouraging athletes to take PEDs.
No evidence on Rupp taking testosterone as a teenager besides some notes taken by a deceased MD, Salazar rubbing androgel on his son is a stretch to say he was "testing" the limits of testing, Nike lab doctors "encouraging". How do you compare these "facts" with, say, the ARD investigation?
The truth is that the NOP allegations and leaps of faith pale in comparison to the ARD investigation. That's why it is dying down. That's not to say that maybe there is some actual proof but right now all the NOP haters have nothing.
I think there is a much more clear cut case against the Kenyans (I'm still not sure how Ethiopia is staying out of the limelight given that there is probably no testing there either) than a single NOP athlete given the mountains of circumstantial evidence against them but you won't find the piling on by the LRC crowd for some unknown reason. In fact, you'll find Rojo pointing out that they cheat less than the rest of the world combined.
The point is that NOP may very well have been pushing grey areas and even down right doping but grey areas are not against the law or the spirit of the sport and there is no evidence of doping. Just a whole lot of hearsay.
Before everyone blows a fuse, I will state for the record that, I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than grey areas being pushed because it is a slippery slope.
But, again, if you think NOP is the only one pushing grey areas or crossing the line then you're crazy or myopic or an Oiselle athlete.
