Oregon sprinters

Wow !!

After an impressive season, UO sprinter\'s results were disappointing for both Todd & Prandini.

I can remember people predicting a podium for Prandini at Worlds.

The long NCAA season ?

Didn\'t Bromell & de Grasse medal in the 100m just a few day ago ? Didn\'t de Grasse compete in the Pan am games just one month ago ? I think they had a long season too !!

Back to the original question, has Marybeth Sant transferred or not?

You do realize that Oregon's sprint coach, Curtis Taylor, was very close to Tony Wells and follows his methodology almost to the letter. There couldn't have been a better coach for Sant.

Tony Wells was a fantastic coach and a marvelous judge of character.

The fact that Curtis Taylor and Caryl Smith-Gilbert have both had success in the college ranks using his system of training is only a testament to his greatness.

My only opinion on this matter is that Coach's Taylor and Smith-Gilbert are using his philosophies in the proper environment for which they were initially designed. I actually think that Coach Well's method of training are misplaced at the high school level as they set the ceiling too high for improvement at the next level. Coach Wells was a tough act to follow.

I think the Universities of Oregon and and especially Southern California which has turned the entire track program over to Coach Smith-Gilbert are blessed to have coaches in their ranks that belive in what Coach Wells was preaching.
