Was hoping he went for it tonight... Don't know why I'd expect Salazar to let him run fast
4:00.45 at the Flotrack throwdown. Pathetic. Maton and Fisher are better.
He had to be training through and not going all out. No way he's in that shape right now

You have to think he is- or a strong possibility. 4:00 is a last mile split or even interval for him. He's never run this bad as a pro, no matter time of year.
Obviously a training run

Kickless over last 200.
Not a good time in the year to be that flat.
Off-cycle?
What did his post-race workout look like?
I don't think I'm going to read very far into results at the FloTrack Throwdown.
440yd track from the stoneages.
FloTrack. Throwdown.
It's meaningless.
This is your Rupp not on Androgel.

Well, they all ran on the same track.
And he was beaten by guys who have never sniffed 3:55, let alone 3:50.
He was in the lead with 400 to go and basically tied for DFL against guys nowhere near his league.
Only a truly deluded fanboy could say this is anything but a massive crater.

Fanboy? Hardly. But I know the difference between a race that matters and a race that doesn't
Worlds will tell all.
He pretty much ran 60 every lap so that could have been the plan. Hopefully he did a workout afterward and this was just apart of it.

BARELY beats Thomas Riva. At least Rupp didn't step off the track with a "cuboid issue" this time.
Pacer Wieczorek should have stayed in it to get the easy scalp.
Alberto must be being very careful with the Androgel squirts this summer.

Alright rupp fan boy. He lost to mead. not a good sign. Yes, this was a rust-buster for him, but not a good sing.
That being said, it would be funny if he just took flotrack for their money.

Now I take back my prior post.
Obviously a slow tactical race, with Rupp finishing in the middle-abouts.

Is Callahan really USA? Isn't he running for Belgium?
Here is a thread on Callahan. He ran a 3:37 a couple of days ago.

In that thread, i try to take credit for predicitng that Callahan would beat rupp, but alas there is no proof.
Still, the guy finished the last 800 of his AR in 1:58. Probably an off day.
Tried to push from 600 out but had nothing to offer.

Judging by the earlier posts I thought he had finished dead last by a few seconds. What did the guys ahead of him close in 56-57? Not particularly impressive either if you were expecting blazing splits.
With Rupp, its always hard to judge anything from his first race from an extended break. There's always the chance this year is different but history tells us he'll be fit and sharp enough come worlds.
A question: Can anyone explain what purpose a race like this serves? We're still a few weeks out from worlds and his kick by no means has to be finely tuned yet. Is it just breaking through for better workouts until then?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
