Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia get it on at UFC 190 this coming August 1, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil starting at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.
48 minutes from now
I am not someplace that I can see this but I hope someone will post the action/results. I don't think it goes more than 90 secs.
This is getting the coverage from Rio De Janierio at the moment.
Compared to Rousey, Correia looks very slow with her movements in training.
Rio de Janeiro.
hehehe
I am not an MMA fan, certainly not a women's MMA fan, but that youtube video left me impressed with her athleticism.
These first round finishes are getting rediculous. Tate seems to be her only competition. I question Cyborg's desire and ability to get down to 135lb as the steroids make that difficult and a less muscular Cyborg could lack that strength and power that is her trademark.
If Rousey keeps dispatching fighters in the first round they'll have to make the Cyborg fight happen quicker than either of them want.

I wish she would take the Cyborg fight at 140 lbs, rather than wanting to fight a drained and dehydrated version of her. 3-4 years ago, Ronda would have got blasted by Cyborg. But her boxing has improved a ton (even though her defense isn't great), so she should be confident enough to take a "heavier" fight.
A couple of years ago, she said she was inspired by BJ Penn and Fedor since they would fight anyone, at any weight, but she won't do the same thing.

Same here.
I don't care for the fighting at all.
1. Catchweight fights serve no purpose. No championship on the line. It's a lose-lose.
2. UFC doesn't have a 145lb division, partly because there's not enough good fighters at 145lb. Cyborg is swimming in the shallow end.
3. Cyborg can make 135. Saying she can't is Ortiz making up pseudo-scientific nonsense and pretending to care about her reproductive health. The issue is her muscle mass. Going down to 135 over a years time is doable but she likely will not be the same power fighter she is now. Stop lifting, stop rousing, start running. She makes 135.
4. If Dana really wants this to happen, regardless of the cost, he'll make a 145lb division. That way there's an option if Cyborg refuses to budge her weight.

The purpose is to get the two best women head-to-head. There has been plenty of catchweight fights between 185 and 205 fighters. There may not be a 145 lb. division since it's not very deep, but neither is 135 lbs. Rhonda was a -1600 favorite and fighting against someone who just started training six years ago in a world championship. How ridiculous is that? It's like Rupp racing against a decent high school kid for a world championship.
And you'd really rather watch her fight Tate a third time, who has nothing for Ronda? Heck, even Tate volunteered to fight Cyborg at 145 lbs.
The UFC tried really hard to get Gina Carano to fight for them and Ronda said she would fight her at 145 lbs. Why won't she do that for Cyborg?
And it's not exactly just "losing muscle." Cyborg is a heavy 145 lb'er. Using your logic, can't Connor McGregor just lose some weight and fight at 135? Can't Gleison Tibau lose 10 lbs. and fight at 145? For those fighters, their power and size is one of their strengths and they are fighting in a weight class that is better suited to them.
Yeah, I understand Ronda the athlete not wanting to move up, but not Ronda the fighter.
Rousey is not so willing because Cyborg would be coming down from more like 165-170 to make weight at 145.
Exactly. Cyborg walks around a lot heavier. It's stupid to go up to meet Cyborg, a known steroid user. Rousey could easily drop to 125 but UFC doesn't have a 125lb division.
