Speak less,
There are lots of great coaches at smaller schools who do not seek to be at major division 1 schools. Smaller schools or lesser known schools can afford you the opportunity to be at home more often and to spend more time with your family and/or to live a more balance life.
I am a mid-level Div. 1 coach and I love that I don't have to get on a plane every thursday and come back every sunday for 9 months straight and then do the same thing throughout the summer recruiting.
My wife and 2 kids appreciate it to. I really don't think the quote "big time jobs" are always the best jobs. I get paid well, coach great kids and get to be a husband a father. That is not always an easy thing to say at the big time schools.
Out of curiosity, what would you prefer to the regional system? It is voted on by ALL coaches and has been supported by many big time coaches and programs as well. It is certainly not simply a product of smaller programs.
