I know there were some threads mentioning him for the dream mile, but did he not get an invite or choose not to go? Anyone can confirm?

Concentrating on Brooks PR right now. Don't know if adidas invited him or not. If they didn't see any value of having the nation's best miler tangling with the nation's best 800 guy (one with 4:07.15 1600 credentials), they are truly morons.
Overrated. Didn't just finish in the back of the pack at the Pre high schooler mile?
Why should he get an invite here?

Because you're dumb or high.

According to a coach friend of mine in Michigan who knows Brazier, the Dream Mile organizers chose not to invite him because he hasn't run the mile enough this season. I sh*t you not. It's truly moronic. 45.9/1:48/4:07 and they don't invite him because he's only run the 1600 a few times this season. When he ran 4:07 he won by more than 15 seconds - who knows what he could do if pushed?
I'm sure it's because he doesn't fit their definition of one of the best prep milers in the country. I'm sure everyone else in the field will argue that they "deserve" it more. However, in the end, a race like this is entertainment, and Brazier had a chance of making this interesting for Fisher and the fans. No one else does.

Totally agree with you on all that.
45.9? That is some generous relay time, unless he did it last year. Dyestat lists his 400m time this year as 47.96. He can't be two seconds better than that is a relay.
I only consider a time out of blocks for a 800m guy anyway, who should have a number of opportunities to do so compared with a miler (like Fisher).
If there are a number of guys who have faster legit 1600/mile times than DB I can see why they were invited and not him. It may not be fair to some degree but that is up to the meet (or event) co-ordinator, who doesn't have to please a LR message-boarder.
My HS guy, who has run a faster 800m this season than DB, at 1.47.91, wasn't invited either - do you see me/him complaining? I guarantee you that he would be respectable. Lots of time to do that in College.
What is the fascination with trying to get all this crap done in HS anyway? As good as Fisher and Maton have run, if they don't get to low-3.30's (for 1500m) or at least sub-3.50 for the mile by the end of College or shortly thereafter, then it didn't really matter anyway. Just like the great double that German ran is no longer relevant and now just looks like a waste of talent.
Having said that - BD is a huge talent, save it for College to explore it fully. I have huge reservations about all these HS races which appear at many College meets as well. Too much too soon IMO. I guess we will see who turns out to be stars on the DL circuit a few years from now or who spent that talent unwisely chasing glory in HS years.
He ran the 47 in a conference meet were he had to run 4 other events and the only time he goes all out is in the 4 by 400 is because it's his last event . Which in the same day he went 47 (when the rest the field whent 50 something) he went 45.9 relay split as anchor
" I guess we will see who turns out to be stars on the DL circuit a few years from now or who spent that talent unwisely chasing glory in HS years."
Lots of runners who had "glory years" in HS took that to the international stage and competed in the Olympics. In fact, most olympic runners were also amazing in high school. I'm not sure what your point is - should these athletes have held back and not attempted to be good until college?
You're vastly underestimating Brazier. But we shall see, no use arguing about it here.

I have absolutely no clue why they didn't put Brazier in... He could have replaced Olin Hacker and made the race MUCH more interesting. Considering Hacker hasn't run well at all on the track this past year and Brazier is obviously a very high quality track runner...
If the meet really wanted young Mr Brazier, I'm sure they could have added him to the venue without bumping anyone else.
They already had already filled the black quota with Myles Marshall. Two's a crowd.
