I used kinvaras for several years but I've replaced them with the asics gel lyte33 v3. I have to say Im in love with this shoe no shoe has ever felt so great!

A lot heavier than Kinvara. It also have less cushioning and higher drop.

The Boston is NOTHING like a Kinvara.

It certainly isn´t. Higher drop and narrower forefoot than Kinvara.
I run in the Kinvara 4s, Nike Frees and Brooks Pure Connect. Personally, I like the Brooks shoes the best. They are my favorite running shoe ever and I've been running for a long time. But I rotate to the other other two brands at least one day each week in an effort to create some variety and hopefully avoid injury. You would probably love the Connects, even more than the old Kinvaras.
I loved the Kinvaras up to the 4's, but it's getting harder and harder to find older versions so I tried the 5's. They're complete crap. The fit feels completely different...
Also very dissapointed with the Kinvara 5. I keep forcing myself to run in them once a week or so. I much prefer the older 3s and 4s in my current rotation. I wasn't able to pinpoint it, just knew they were very different and didn't agree with me as the Kinvara 1, 2, 3, and 4s did.
