Yes, she did admit she cheated unlike Rossi but she's no saint. This was a premeditated attempt to cheat her way into Boston, like Doubler mentioned she hit the halfway cheater mat which originally tied the hands of the timing company and race director.
If I recall correctly, she didn't admit she cheated but she came up with some crazy story?
What is a cheater mat exactly? Is this a timing mat outside the course?
Congrats on getting her DQ'ed!
It is an unpublished mat at the turnaround (It's an out and back course). I was told she hit that. If true, that makes it impossible to 'unknowingly' cut the course.
She apparently has a type of epilepsy. You can google her and see an article she wrote about herself that explains that. There's a link in the comments of the blog.
She commented on the blog after I had all but given up on getting the DQ admitting that it appears that she didn't run the whole course. She claims she had a seizure accompanied with amnesia and must have cut the course. She made a number of posts on the blog.
I kept trying to tell her that I just wanted the result removed--but she was very defensive. Below is the link to the article. I intentionally did not question her story on the blog--because I mostly wanted the DQ. As much as I'd love to write a follow up--I don't think any further 'shaming' of her serves a purpose. I tried to get her to contact me directly, so that I could confront her about the half way mat and how it doesnt' make sense that she accidently cut the course. I do think the story stinks, but bottom line is we got the proper result.
