I once ran a 15 minute mile and got gift certificates to the mall. It was a Jerry's kids mile and boy did I piss people off.

I ran an 18:30 and was the first woman and also beat all the men in the race. (Pretty sad field...) I won $25 and the guy coming up to get his award was real embarrassed....
$1000 for a 2:34 marathon. The time isn't that slow I guess, but I walked much of the last 8 km, waiting for someone to pass me, so that I could drop out. It was probably my most pathetic race ever, but also the most money I've ever won.
My wife recently won $250 cash and a $75 gift certificate to a running store for winning a 5k in 19:59.
The funny part is that she signed up for the race only 20 minutes before the start because I told her I didn't see any elite women around.
Easy payday.
17:00 for 3 miles 25 dollars
$250.00 for a 2:38 marathon
100bucks for a 2:55
$1200 for a 31:00 10k. 10 kenyans showed up the next year and ran 28:50
Damn, I've obviously been going to the wrong races. I'd ask to know where some of these races have been but I'm sure no one wants to let the secret out on their little cash cows. Cheers!
$250 for a 16:48 5k. $250 for a 50:03 15k. $150 for a 17:30 5k. I could go on but I'll stop there.
well at the Goodwill Games in 1999, you probably get prize money for winning there, the winner of the 5000 was 15:26, while the womens winner was 15:12. There were 12:50's guys in that race like Sammy Kipketer. Now that is ridiculous.
$40 for a 52s 400 on grass. (ran a heat in about the same time an hour earlier)
5:06 mile... $500
3 10k's, all 35-36 min. 1st year $ 2000, 2nd year $1000 and last year $ 500.
My wife jumped in last year and won $ 500 for 3rd woman overall.
4:35 Masters Mile, $125. Good competition, just not fast.
16:10 5k...$100
30 minutes later,
35:40 10k...$100
flat course too.
$100 for a 1:26 half marathon!

yeah, with a 51s last 400m.
won a $75 gift certificate- local running shoe store- for winning an 8km in 26:21 (5:16 pace)
17:45, won the race (by a minute) and a 20 dollar gift certificate. I was planning on running just to win as easily as possible, by I swear I heard someone right behind me the whole way until I looked back with 100 to go and noone was there...crossed the line laughing. I wish there were more no competition races like this around.
