I was once held hostage off the coast of rio di janeiro for 5 months, and as a project to cut the boredom I worked to bulk myself up to 190. I went in weighing 150 after a really horrible period with a girl. My usual weight is around 170.
I made it just over 190 before they finally let us go. I only had a single 30lb dumbbell. I did it all with chin-ups, push-ups, and lifting that one dumbbell. I ate 3 cans of tuna a day and two litres of whole milk, in addition to regular mealtimes.
The food you have to take in in order to really gain weight is the big hurdle, at least for me. It really becomes an uncomfortable force-feeding situation. But you have to do it.
In the end 190+ didn't feel right on me. I couldn't wash parts of my back because I was so hoss in places. In the end I didn't like it and allowed it to slowly melt off.
I bought some cowboy boots today and I think they might be a hair too small.
