I'd like to smoke some pot with Alexi Pappas and Jordan Hassay, and go to an all you can eat sushi and salad buffet and then hit a local dive bar and knock back a long island ice tea and play a game of pool. Then go back to their place and watch episodes of some bad tv show and crash out on the couch. Then in the morning raid the fridge and if there are eggs make a big omlett and waffles with maple syrup.
I would also smoke weed with any other elite runner who smokes weed, or doesn't, as long as they smoked weed that one time, but I'd prefer one who has smoked weed before and could kick back and chill.
I'm taking liberty by adding coaches, but they're all technically runners, just not very accomplished runners:
Mark Wetmore. Amazing record, but I find his answers to (often stoopid) questions to be very thoughtful.
Matt Elliott. I love his story. Medicore HS runner to an elite.
Brother Colm O’Connell. Would love to better understand what makes him tick and his training methods.
Jim Ryun. Think he'd have some amazing stories.
Genzebe Dibaba. She's hot and an amazing athlete.
1) Craig Mottram - Judging from his interviews, he knows how to let loose. Small pub atmosphere.
2) Nick Symmonds - Clearly has some fun while partaking. House party.
3) Chris Solinsky - Seems like a pretty relaxed guy. Crappy bar in Wisconsin, bowling alley, or tailgate.
4) Will Leer - Maybe a few obscure beers in LA of San Diego on a beautiful day? He seems like an IPA guy.
5) Ciarân Ô'Lionâird - He's Irish! Lots of Guinness at some random pub in the countryside.
At the 2012 trials I had the opportunity to have a beer with Will Leer which was awesome!! Very cool dude and hilarious!
Aslo David Torrence sat down at our table and talked with us for a solid 45mins over a couple pitchers.. Great guy and we appreciated him taking time to talk to us..
and got to meet various other athletes that night which was very cool and capped off a great two week trip.
