I'm a sophomore runner that had a pretty crappy freshman year of XC and Track so I joined a small personal training group. I've really improved there's no doubt. I skipped out on XC this year to strength train. While I watched milesplit and flotrack rankings all season long, I wondered if these elite high school runners have personal trainers like I do. I'm not saying that just because I have a trainer overnight I'll turn into a US #1. I joined my trainer because the coaches at my school are first and foremost football coaches and my xc coach is a 6th grade social studies teacher who is there solely for moral support. Because I wanted to improve, I went to a trainer. I'm just curious if the best athletes in the country have personal trainers too. The best runners in my state (Tennessee) have personal trainers but then some just go to schools with really great coaches. So maybe it's 50/50 I dont know but I'm curious. What do you guys think?
