jager needs to get aerobically better so he can cruise at 1 seconds per lap quicker than now.
then he'll be able to kick the last lap.
right now he's nearly toast going into the last lap in championships.
surely they will be doing bit of work on the kick too but without the gas the kick preparation is fairly useless.
training for a kick involves running 2 laps at race pace and then kick, and do full recovery reps of this as bread and butter workouts.
same as when you are preparing for a championship 5000m, a key workout is 62 seconds 400m followed by a 54 or better.
