4 teams can't come out of Utah...unless you want the BEST teams at NXN. Shouldn't matter where they are from.

In my opinion, Timpanogos and Desert Hills were too far back to justify getting an at-large bid. I certainly don't expect both to get an at-large and will be pleasantly surprised if Timpanogos receives a bid. On the other hand, I expect the Davis girls to get an invite. Monarch?! Maybe.

This could very well be the year that the SE region gets a boys at large. It's definitely the best and deepest the region has been:
Lake Braddock, VA
Broughton, NC
Marietta, GA
Daniel Boone, TN
Leon, FL
I would have listed Brentwood, TN, but they are more like a club team than they are a school team. $400/month per kid for coaching? Forget it.

dbosco/lasalle - whoever loses - as long as bosco runs like 2 weeks ago, not last week
4th will be ca#4 or kamilkus or that utah team that watchout overates

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Kamiakin getting in. How many other teams have scored under 100 points at their regional meet? Because of their low score shouldn't they automatically get in? Just my opinion

southwest had 30 teams, Northwest had only 19 in the race
cant base it on low the score.
tripamangus performed as well as kamikus, i'd say in nxR races.
whoch one to choose (if not ca#4 for the last bid) would be based on secondary results.
I agree that Kamiakin should be in the running. I am pretty sure they'd show it was deserved if selected, having watched the race and seen their prior results.
But is a valid point that scores can't be compared across regions because of field size differences. NXN-NW team scoring has changed appreciably now that they have 50 unattached runners in the championship race, and only 19 teams. Usually for the top two teams you can count on subtracting about 40 from your top 5 runners' score to get an idea of how its going during the race. This year there were a lot more unattached runners in the top 50 so the difference between raw score and team score was much larger than in the past. I am basing this on the girls but it looked much the same for the boys.
Aside, HUGE thanks to the organizers of NXN-NW for doing such a fantastic job of dealing with the snowstorm. Slow conditions, but a lot of hard work made it as fair a race as possible.
400$/month? Where'd you pull that number out of? And isn't brentwood the Brentwood highschool team? Didn't they compete at a TSSAA sponcered meet for state? And didn't they just lose state to Boone by a mere three points? And didn't they miss the nationals by two points in one of the biggest regions? Count them out? Yeah right.
It's a shame SE doesn't get more respect from nike, I agree with you there, but why attack Brentwood, they've done a lot for improving the region.
I wouldn't count Brentwood out. That's the point, I think. I know that many coaches and others around the state do not have much use for the way they do things, which looks quite a lot like skirting the rules, if you asked me. However, they have certainly had very good teams.
Improving the Southeast Region? Give me a break. Brentwood happens to be a very good team in a region that has improved for a variety of reasons. You may give NXN credit for that, but I don't think I'd give Brentwood or any other good program (Lake Braddock, Midlothian, Broughton, Brookwood, etc.) credit for improving the region.
