If I start off training by running a 5:59 mile with 150 pounds on, and then slowly decrease weight, I can run a 100 miler without weight by the end of a couple years. I was told it would work, anyone else tried it?

The easiest way is to get in your camper trailer and let
your handlers drive you to near the finish line.
Find a race with a gondola that crosses over, and shortcuts, the course. Have your friend run the gondola for you. Sub 10hr; not troubles.
What's your fastest time lunging a mile? I need both BW and Weighted times for accurate computations.

Only if you can hit a 3:57 mile on a random downhill training run. No biggie.
Nobody can run a 5:59 mile carrying 150 pounds of additional weight.
The easiest way to go sub-10:00 in a 100 miler is to rip off 100 straight sub-6:00 miles. Easy Peazy.
