so... my conference meet is on Nov. 8th and i'm hoping to break 26. i'm used to a hard taper, where i'll keep my mileage up throughout the season and then drop it 10 days out from a championship race. things are a bit different this year, however. after getting injured last winter, i started training for cross in april, giving me plenty of time to safely build up to 100 mpw.
here are my weekly mileage totals starting from 8/24.
8/24-8/30: 100
8/31-9/6: 100 (5k race in 16:37)
9/7-9/13: 65 (8k race in 26:58)
9/14-9/20: 100
9/21-9/27: 101
9/28-10/4: 100
10/5-10/11: 103
10/12-10/18: 70 (8k race on tough, hilly course in 27:45. finished in 6th place)
what should my mileage look like 3 weeks out from the race of my life?
