I went from 27:30 to 21:30 my freshman year. Continued down to 17:30 by senior year.
All kind of cheating though, because I was pretty soft around the edges coming into high school.
I ran with a kid who went from about 21 shape to very low 17:00's in one season all the while smoking so much reefer. He had been a state champ swimmer in his youth so i think that helped.
He also was so mentally tough in a race. Too bad he got in a fist fight with our coach and quit.
