Already some good suggestions here. If you want the real (but quick) LA experience, don't miss Santa Monica/Venice beach, and Griffith Park. Be prepared for the crowds though. Griffith Park has great views of all the lights after sunset, but it may be against the rules to stay that late.
The Pantry downtown for breakfast, Roscoe's chicken and waffles for brunch, and Tommy's burger for dinner.
In other cities, once a year, you might meet one former State champion, ex-NCAA-DI student-athlete, or former NFL Practice team member. In L.A. every gym has hundreds of former MLB players, NCAA champions, Platinum recording stars, washed Boxing Champions, old hags who were super-models in Paris, etc. It's humiliating living in L.A. with nothing to brag about but my two lap PR.
LA is the most visible city on the planet. LA is the future of mankind. LA is the center of world entertainment, social media, sports, genetics, new media, style, fashion, art, deep space, multimedia, internet, and aerospace technology. You can spend a lifetime trying and not begin to scrape the surface of LA, the most spectacular city in the world.
If you want to see LA at night run to the top of Mt Wilson and you can see the entire city in all of its glory. The trailhead is in Pasadena off of the Baldwin exit and climbs to the top of Wilson in around 5000ft of gain in 7 miles (14 miles round trip). It is an awesome trail to run at night.
"Furthermore, if you got a problem with the substance of what I say, address that. Demeaning someone in one sentence is a cop-out that indicates your complete lack of intelligence and manners. I'm guessing you probably scored 400 or less on your SAT verbal? because I did say a lot. I guess you don't understand language and linguistics, eh? Do you want me to spell out all the meaning and meta-function and themes in what I wrote? And you choose to criticize me of all the other posts in this thread and forum."
-"if you got":....wow, you hit it right out of the gate, dude..."if you have"...
-"because I did say a lot":...this is horrible sentence structure.
-"And you choose to criticize me of all the other posts in this thread and forum.":...never begin a sentence with the word "and". that's a remedial rule.
the fact that your critical paragraph is rife with errors is not shocking. it's just further proof of the irony in life.
Thats a tone for all the info and insight so far. Running related would be nice, but any sight seeing or food experiences are welcome. Sorry for not clarifying.
What the best stuff to eat? Any hole in the wall type places?
taco trucks are the way to go...check out portos too, bomb ass bakery/sandwiches
Another douchebag who hasn't studied linguistics. you know, there's more to linguistics than being a grammar nazi? I bet you can't even name the branches of language off the top of your head. I was alluding to pragmatics and meta-functions of communication. So, right here, you're another jack@ss popping out of the woodwork that fits right in the mold of what I was criticizing. I bet you're an institutional yes man and have been kissing butt your whole life and you're going to get your just reward for completely lacking any good faith and tearing other people down out of jealousy and self-loathing.

You think morphology and syntax is all there is to language. You are completely incompetent as far as semantics and pragmatics go, are not willing to meet people halfway on a forum where the point is not to please middle school English teachers but to communicate, share emotions, the human condition, ideas and engage in constructive dialogue and synthesize new knowledge. 760 on the SAT verbal taken my Junior year of high school. What did you score? Being so soulless and lacking in reading comprehension and the ability to relate to others, your ceiling was definitely limited...

It is what it is? So what is it, exactly? Is it is?

that's the most substantial energy I feel insofar as running is concerned (when that sun is shining on a clear day).
Maybe if I had better reading comprehension skills that sentence would somehow make sense.

dude, you seriously know how to ruin a thread
USC Heritage Hall has momentos from USC's 11 football national championships, and 97 total NCAA NCs.
Heritage Hall has some of USC's Olympic 287 Olympic Medals (135 gold, 87 silver and 65 bronze), the most of any college in the world.
Don't miss the statue of USC's Neil Armstong, the first Man on the Moon.

oh that Neil Armstrong
There's always a college or pro championships to go to when your in Los Angeles. The Kings won the Stanley Cup last time. The Clippers mad thee playoffs. The Angels and the Dodgers have made the playoffs again now. UCLA and USC always have one team in some championships round play. Enjoy.
If you're not required to actually stay in LA during those 4 days, I'd GTFO and drive a few hours to the Eastern Sierra (Lone Pine) or Death Valley (Furnace Creek) and go hiking/camping. Two of the most spectacular landscapes in the country. Mid October will be really nice weather in Death Valley, the serious heat will be gone but it'll still be pretty warm. Up in the Sierra it'll be a crapshoot whether there will be much or any snow by then to mess up the hiking. It'll be pretty cold at night at altitude.

and one day they might get a football teamThe NFL company and every person for that matter can open any legal business in Los Angeles. You are welcomed always. Please consider Los Angeles for your venture.

How do you expect me to respond? I didn't ruin the thread, the a$$holes trying to troll and insult me are responsible for derailing it. Coward a$$ dogs harass and stalk me in every irrelevant thread, but won't even say what their beef is and hide behind ad-hoc anonymous names. I already contributed a ton to this thread in good faith. I'm well within my right to respond harsh to these dogs. But it's all good, it's very instructive as to the true nature of many people in our society--cutthroat backstabbing dogs who really hate any sincere, deep expression.
grammar confusion,
go nitpick and demean someone else's honest poetic expressions and use of idiomatic language. You're not out for good faith and exchange of expression, you're out to insult and be a smart@ss. And, like these other stalking dogs, something about my honest expression just makes you so mad... it scares you. So you gotta break me down to feel good and like to move in when you smell blood. You go about life in the same way, at your own peril. Game and you will be gamed.
These anonymous jerks are the ones who destroy these threads, contributing nothing and only trying to start a flame war by being as insulting and demeaning as possible.
