WRONG on 1).
Defense would have been blocking her blows or holding her hands until she calmed down or he could exit. Knocking her out cold is clearly retaliation. Did it stop her attacks? Yes. But so would a non-lethal gunshot (which I hope to god you are realistic enough to recognize as being something other than self-defense).
The poster whom you responded to clearly pointed out that there is a difference between self defense and retaliation and for reasons that only you are privy to you have completely ignored that distinction.
