That 1500m makes it Mo's best event time wise. No doubt.
But he has better chances at winning the 5000m and especially the 10,000m due to weaker competition and how the races are run. Which plays right into his strengths. So he sticks to that.
His theoretical "best" event for a fast time is probably the 3000m like a lot of people has speculated.

Going to a weaker event because your chances of medaling are higher but when your best time is in a different event is dodging the competition.
