Boomer: Imagines that he's prefontaine, idolizes Jordan Hasay, tracks runs in excel
Zoomed: imagines he's Spencer brown, drools over colleen Quigley instagram, tracks runs in strava
YR: Has all the latest gadgets, HRM, GPS, Strava, newest, latest, greatest, high tech shoes, clothes, nutrition, and training gizmos. Consults with a personal trainer, runs on treadmill during bad weather, does yoga, cross trains. Still gets beat by BCR
BCR: Doesn't have sh*t, just runs and trains hard year 'round. Continues to beat YR convincingly every time.
Race day plan:
YR: go out easy and negative splits.
BCR: Go out hard and see what happens.
On Paker Stinson:
YR: Criticizes him for having balls.
BCR: Loves Stinson for having balls.
How they plan to improve and PB:
YR: Hires a coach. Carefully plans out training.
BCR: Just ups mileage and increase the speed and volume of his workouts.
On pain:
YR: Backs off.
BCR: Embraces it.

YR: Some stuff he seen some professional runners do on Instagram.
BCR: Throwing the kids around, mowing the lawn(and other house chores) and his job.

YR: Gated communities

YR: Always does dynamic stretching before runs and 15 minutes of post run stretching.
BCR: Sometimes touches his toes in the shower, so the hot water can hit his lower back better.

YR: Knows it is end of the world.
BCR: Knows it is just a hoax.

YR: Take a few weeks off and goes to the PT.
BCR: Just jogs easy till the pain goes away.
Pre race warm up:
YR: 15+ minutes of dynamic stretching, jogs and some strides
BCR: Drinks his coffee, just goes for a jog with some strides.
Post race recovery nutrition:
YR: Chocolate milk and gatorade
BCR: Coke-Cola and beef jerkey
Post race meal:
YR: Some hipster vegan restaurant
BCR: Pizza or a nice burger.
When to get new shoes:
YR: Every 300 miles
BCR: Till the rubber is completely worn out.
GPS watches:
YR: Checks it every other minute to make sure heart rate, pace, cadnece etc. is in line with what they think is ideal.
BCR: Wears a GPS watch, but only looks at it after his runs.
Weather:
YR: Complains about it.
BCR: Only checks weather to see what to wear.
Races:
YR: Tempos it.
BCR: Races it.
Clothes:
YR: Gets new clothes every year.
BCR: Still wearing what he did in high school to run in.
On Sage:
YR: biggest fan boys.
BCR: Tells him to eat a steak.
Fartlek:
YP: Planned out and by time.
BCR: Just goes by feel.
Running drills:
YR: Does them 3x a week with strides.
BCR: Might do them before races, occasionally.
On the Japanese marathoners:
YR: But they don't brake 2:05.
BCR: Loves them, looks at how many Japanese are going under 2:10 for the marathon.
On Yuki:
YR: Hates on him, believe there should be a asterisk next to his win at the 2018 Boston.
BCR: Loves him, him wining Boston was one of the greatest sporting moments they ever seen.

Yeah, well Southie is one of the most yuppified neighborhoods in Boston these days. Its all new gentrification-chic "multi-use" apartments directed at local college grads. For the community you're looking for, try going to Braintree or Somerville.
